1850s Percussion Target Rifle, by Ebenezer Dewey, Amber, NY, NVSN, approx. .40 cal., 29'' octagon barrel, plum finish, German silver decorative motifs, pewter forend cap, double set triggers, globe type front sight with later added elevation adjustable rear sight over original dovetail rear; halfstocked, crescent buttplate, with running deer patchbox. Barrel and sideplate marked ''E. Dewey'', with aperture in upper tang for additional sight. Condition is very good with just beginning light pitting to barrel and lockplate. Stock retains approx. 60% of its original varnish with most of the losses around patchbox. Double set trigger function as designed, bore is excellent.
