<td><em>
What a wonderful piece! This hand built primitive baker's table has helped knead many a loaf of bread in its day.</em></td>

<tr>
<td width="100%">
Found at an estate sale in Eagle Grove, Iowa, it features a possum belly tin flour bin, pullout breadboard and well-worn top. Square and wire nails are visible. This table is made of clear cut fir (not common pine). There are even saw cuts on the sides where it had to be fitted into its space in its original home. When found, this piece was poorly stripped, with white paint reidue degrading it to something less than shabby chic. Preservation Project artisans thought enough of the heritage value of this interesting baker's table to remove the paint residue and restore its original appearance, finishing it off with a hand rubbed tung oil seal. Just an occasional application of lemon oil will keep this heirloom in top condition for decades to come.
