Unc Details, Net AU55.</B></I> Small cent annular (ring-form) pattern, simply laid out with *CENT*1850 on the obverse, and on the reverse USA ONE TENTH SILVER. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge and no central perforation. The ring cent of 1850 were made in response to Congressman Sam F. Vinton of the House Ways and Means Committee, who drafted a bill in 1849 to reduce the size of the one cent piece. The obverse is heavily die cracked and on the reverse the tooling that is mentioned on the insert is actually a series of short pinscratches. Pleasing light coloration and otherwise problem-free.
