1850 P1C One Cent, Judd-119 Original, Pollock-134, Low R.6, PR65 PCGS. The obverse displays the denomination CENT at the top, the date 1850 at the bottom, two rosettes at the sides, and a perforation in the center. The reverse has the inscriptions USA and ONE TENTH SILVER around. Struck in billon (10% silver, 90% copper) with a plain edge. According to Andrew Pollock, these patterns were made in response to Congressman Sam F. Vinton of the House Ways and Means Committee's bill drafted in 1849 to reduce the size of the one cent piece. The perforated billon pieces are believed to be original strikings, but it is unclear if the pieces with die cracks are original or restrikes. This piece is mostly blue-brown with only slight remnants of original red remaining.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
