<B>1850-O S$1 AU55 NGC.</B></I> Circulated examples of the 1850-O dollar, with a mintage of 40,000 pieces, are fairly plentiful through the Very Fine level. XF pieces are scarce, AU coins are fairly rare, and Mint State specimens are, according to David Bowers (1993), "few and far between." This choice AU example exhibits bright silvery surfaces with just the slightest hint of light hazy gold-tan color. Traces of luster cling to the design elements, which are relatively well defined, save for softness in Liberty's hair and on the eagle's neck.
