Circa 1830-1850 New England. Set of 4 black painted and decorated fan-back Windsor chairs with bamboo turned legs. Each with arched crest and with golden grapes and foliage within a gold border, the stiles with complementary decoration, enclosing four curved tapering spindles. The incised shaped plank seat with gold outlines on raked legs joined by a box stretcher. Condition: Minor surface scratches to old black painted surface, Stenciling and hand-painted detail is exceptional. One chair is slightly smaller then the other three. One of the larger chairs has a crack line on the back stretcher. Dimensions: Three - 33.5"H x 16.5"W. One - 32.5"H x 16.5"W. All have same seat height - 16.5"H.

The auctioneer reserves the right not to accept any bid which is only a partial advance over the preceding bid. 8. The purchaser is not entitled to possession until all items have been paid for in full. Any shortfall from sale plus commission and expenses thereof shall be paid by the purchaser. 16. All costs and responsibilities of removal shall be borne by the purchaser/bidder within the time prescribed by the auctioneer. The auctioneer may require proof of adequate insurance from the purchaser. The purchaser/bidder herby indemnifies the auctioneer and the consignor(s) against any and all damages arising from the dismantling and removal of any lots. 17. Purchaser/bidder may contact Larry Collins of Collins Office Furniture at 843-224-0840 to arrange Packing and Shipping or a contractor of their choice. Purchaser/bidder shall have all items removed from auction site within 5 days after auction. 18. Any lots not removed within the prescribed time shall be subject to storage, moving, disposal and service charges at the sole risk and expense of the purchaser. All such lots shall be deemed as abandoned and shall be subject to resale for the recovery of such charges. The purchaser shall also be liable for any rent or damages sustained by the auctioneer for failure to remove any lot. 19. If for any reason, Seymour Antiques & Auctions is unable to deliver any or all of an awarded lot or title thereof, the sole liability of Seymour Antiques & Auctions shall be the refund of any monies paid on the lot. 20. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to remove their items within the prescribed time. 21. When bidding for an item that has quantity greater than 1, if you are successful, you will receive one of the grouping, not necessarily the first lot.
