<B>1850-C $5 Weak C AU55 NGC.</B></I> Variety 15-G, Die State II. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006) write that most of the 1850-C half eagle survivors are low grade, and examples above XF are "very desirable." This Choice AU example possesses attractive canary-gold color, as well as ample luster in the recessed areas. Except for minor softness on the eagle's neck, the design features are well defined. An even scattering of tiny marks over each side do not detract.
