1850-C $5 VF30 PCGS. Variety 14-F. Typical strike for the issue with weakness on the reverse; this is the result of a die crack that is also seen on certain 1849-C half eagles. Flatness is seen on the eagle's right leg and the arrow feathers. The surfaces are lightly marked with no severe abrasions; the luster is slightly impaired but certainly acceptable. The obverse and reverse both show light green-gold hues. This coin seems undergraded by today's standards. Housed in an old PCGS holder.
From The Carolina Circle Collection.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
