1850-C $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. Variety 12-G. Two different reverse dies were used for the coinage of 1850-C quarter eagles, and they are easily distinguished by a quick glance. The mintmark is centered over the digit 1 in the fraction on this variety with reverse G. The other reverse has the mintmark centered over the top of the fraction bar. By a small margin, variety 12-G is slightly more common. This is a sharply struck representative of the variety with brilliant greenish-yellow gold surfaces and prooflike fields. Minor abrasions are visible on both sides, and these are consistent with the grade.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
