<B>1850-C $2 1/2 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Variety 12-G. Flashes of prooflike luster benefit peripheral areas of this rare date quarter eagle. A scant 9,148 pieces were struck, and those were about evenly divided into two mintmark location varieties. Variety 12-G has the mintmark centered above the numerator, while 12-H centers the mintmark over the fraction bar. This light golden-brown piece has some striking softness on the eagle's leg, and a thin mark is noted near star 7.
