1850-C $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS. Most 1850-C quarter eagles have poor eye appeal, due to weakly struck central details and heavily abraded surfaces (Douglas Winter, 1998). We present in this lot a sharp AU50 example that displays much better-than-average definition. While a few stars reveal soft radials, and the right (left facing) leg is soft as always, the remaining devices have benefited from an impressive strike. Moreover, gorgeous apricot-gold color with tints of red enrich both sides. Some relatively light circulation marks are noted, but the surfaces certainly lack "heavy abrasions," and retain traces of luster in the recesses.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
