1850 50C MS64 NGC. From 1850 until the weight change of 1853, the Philadelphia Mint's output of half dollars shrank considerably from its previous heights. In 1850, the mintage consisted of only 227,000 halves, and of them, this piece is one of the finest to have escaped the melting pot. The pink-tinged silver surfaces have soft but pleasing luster, and the strike is solid. Only a small abrasion at Liberty's midsection precludes a Gem grade. This remarkable example is tied for the finest certified by NGC (1/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
