<B>1850 1C MS65 Red PCGS.</B></I> N-19, R.2. Grellman Die State b. A late state with nearly all of the lines and lumps now entirely gone. This die state used to be called N-16. This is a splendid Gem example of this large cent issue, encapsulated in a first-generation PCGS holder. Some of the dentils and two of the obverse stars are a tad weak, but the other design elements are all crisply defined, and the surfaces are well preserved. A few small carbon flecks are noted on the obverse. Slight mellowing of the color is noted on the high points of the obverse and reverse designs.
