1849 N-11 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown.
1849 N-11 R1. PCGS graded MS-63 Red & Brown. Repunched 1. Frosty olive with subtle overtones of bluish steel brown and 15% of the mint red remaining on both sides. Sharply struck and very attractive, although the luster is hidden a bit under a thin layer of natural oxidation that could be removed. A choice cent except for a tiny planchet flake right of the Y in LIBERTY and a dull nick on the leaf below the A in STATES. Neither of these defects is distracting, in fact they are not easy to find. EDS, die state a. The repunching under the base of the 1 is sharp and the fine die lines are clear. Our grade is MS62. Tied for CC#4.
Estimated Value $350-UP.
