1849 N-10 R3
1849 N-10 R3. MS-60. Frosty light to medium chocolate brown with hints of light olive on the obverse. The surfaces are satiny and offer excellent eye appeal for the grade. This cent may have been lightly dipped long ago, but the toning appears natural and there is no evidence of artificial mint color. The only marks are a shallow planchet flake or low spot under star 1 and a tiny speck of dark toning nestled between two dentils right of star 8. MDS, die state c early. The lump on the coronet extends to below the center of star 6 and the obverse fields are just starting to display hints of extremely fine die rust. Tied for CC#2, and it comes with a nice provenance.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
