1849-D $5 MS62 NGC. Variety 22-N. Ex: Ashland City Collection. According to Doug Winter (2003), this is a newly discovered variety that appears to be very rare. On the obverse, the date is well centered in the space between the neck and the denticles. On the reverse, the mintmark is high and touches the stem but not the tail feather. Die polish lines are noted beneath and to the left of the mintmark. This piece is well struck and lustrous, with pleasing light-green coloration. Wispy marks in the obverse and reverse fields limit the grade. Census: 5 in 62, 1 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
