1849 Colt pocket model, .31 caliber percussion, 5” barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, two line new York address, small trigger guard, five-shot cylinder, serial number “98120”. The colt remains in original good plus condition, with barrel lug showing a grey patina finish with traces of blue in protected areas, some scattered light to moderate erosion and pitting, some dings around the wedge port and normal aging. The barrel address is crisp, edges fairly sharp. The cylinder shows 60-70% light cylinder scene and a darkened brown patina with strong traces of blue mixed in. The hammer frame and loading lever show 20-30% case hardening within a grayish patina. The backstrap and triggerguard show 50-70% darkened original silver plate. The varnish wood grips are very good with 60-70% varnish and just some slight wear at the edges and minor scratches. All matching visible serial numbers, tight action, very crisp interior. Note: This pistol was found in a double-case along with a 4” pocket, which are listed at lots 1248 and 1037. Est: $900 - $1,800
