1849 Colt pocket model, .31 caliber percussion, 4” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips showing one-line New York barrel address, 6-shot cylinder. Serial #275998. The revolver remains in near fine original condition showing 75-85% original blue on barrel. Some thinning at the edges, minor erosion, a few light scratches, just beginning pinprick pitting and normal aging. The cylinder shows 90% plus original cylinder scene slightly light in a few areas and approx. 60% thinning blue. An index line between cylinder stops, some light erosion and minor aging. The frame, hammer, and loading lever show 60-80% case hardening with good rainbow colors, some drifting to patina, light erosion, and just beginning aging. The backstrap and triggerguard show an even light patina and almost no trace of silver as is common on the later production as the silver was literally flashed and rubbed off easily. The varnish wood grips are very good plus to near fine with 80-90% varnish, some marks at the bottoms and edges and minimal wear. The action is crisp, most of the cylinder pins are retained. All matching visible serial numbers, excellent interior. An exceptional pocket model that saw
