<B>1849-C $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 11-G. This low mintage Charlotte issue has a mintage of only 10,220 pieces. Of that barely five-figure output, only 50-55 pieces are believed known today in all grades, and most of those are in the VF-XF grade range. This near-Mint example is tied with several others at the lower end of the Condition Census. This is one of the few '49-C quarter eagles that are not heavily abraded. The green-gold color of the coin also shows an accent of light rose in the fields on each side.
