<B>1849-C $2 1/2 AU53 NGC.</B></I> Variety 11-G. As its mintage of only 10,200 pieces might suggest, the 1849-C ranks as one of the more elusive Charlotte quarter eagle issue. This lightly circulated example has pleasing detail for the grade and luminous yellow-orange surfaces. Light, scattered abrasions and two teardrop-shaped depressions in the left obverse field partly account for the grade.
