<B>1849 $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The 1849 is a scarce and overlooked issue that compares (especially in high grades) to its better known C- and D-mint counterparts. This deeply reflective example is sharply defined, except on the eagle's left leg, the usual place for weakness on quarter eagles from this era. The lightly abraded surfaces show just a hint of reddish patina on each side. Certified in a green-label holder.
