1848 Taylor & Fillmore Lithograph By Nathaniel Currier. Whig presidential candidate Zachary Taylor and his running-mate Millard Fillmore are featured in this colored lithograph from the 1848 campaign. General Taylor - "Old Rough and Ready" - was quite popular after successfully prosecuting the Mexican War and was subsequently elected to our nation's highest public office. Gastroenteritis, however, struck the old warhorse down after some sixteen months in the White House. Vice-President Fillmore stepped in, of course. Mounted in a later pine frame, 16.25" x 12.25" overall. Light marginal stains, else fine condition.

Shipping: Framed (view shipping information)
