<B>1848-O $10 AU55 NGC.</B></I> The 1848-O, with a mintage of 35,850 business strikes, is fairly common in low grades, becomes scarce to rare in AU, and is exceedingly rare in Mint State (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006). Indeed, NGC and PCGS combined have seen fewer than 15 Uncirculated examples. This Choice AU example exhibits considerable luster in its recessed areas. Yellow-gold patina occupies both sides, each of which reveals just a few trivial marks.
