1848 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown.
1848 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Very attractive lustrous steel brown and light chocolate with 10% of the mellowed mint color remaining, mostly on the reverse. Unbroken satiny mint frost covers the surfaces. The only marks, and they are microscopic, are some specks of darker toning near the dentils at stars 5-8 and a tiny planchet void at the edge of the leaf under the C in AMERICA. M-LDS, die state d. The die crack through the top of MER is strong and the section of die outlined by this crack is shifted outward. A great example in a neat die state. Our grade is MS63, CC#1 by a small margin in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS in BN.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
