1848 N-22 R1 MS60. Glossy medium brown with traces of faded mint red on both sides. There is a small nick-like chip on the chin and another just right of the lower curl, both as struck, plus a small rim nick under the stem tip and a shallow carbon spot on the left foot of in UNITED. The obverse fields are smooth and slightly reflective with many fine die lines from a fresh lapping. M-LDS, die state d, with dull waves in the die at the D in UNITED and at the right top of the first T in STATES. The die lines to the base of the T in CENT are gone. Tied for CC#6 in the Grellman census. DWH #2097.
