1848-C $2 1/2 XF45 PCGS. Variety 9-F. One of two obverses known, despite a stingy production of 16,788 pieces. This is an olive-yellow representative with noticeable remaining luster and the usual moderate inexactness of strike on the lower half of the eagle. Marks on Liberty's jaw, the eagle's left (facing) wing, and the lower left obverse field are noted, along with the faintly entered letters "Big" on the field near OF.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
