1848-C $2 1/2 AU53 PCGS. Variety 10-F. The date is lightly repunched, and the lower obverse field is buckled, as made. The base of the bust and the eagle's head and neck are softly impressed, probably from metal flow into the sunken (on the die) obverse field. Luster dominates design recesses, and both sides are surprisingly unabraded. Population: 9 in 53, 14 finer (11/07).

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
