<B>1848 $10 MS62 NGC.</B></I> How elusive is this issue in high grades? Heritage has only offered one example of this issue in MS62 before, and just one finer, a Select piece. A variety of factors, including the mintage of 145,484 pieces and the circulation patterns of the time, make this one of the most difficult Philadelphia issues of the 1840s to acquire in Mint State. This example is well struck and has pretty, original luster. The yellow-orange surfaces host a reddish copper spot near the 4 in the date and a host of light abrasions that account for the grade.
