<B>1848 $1 MS63 NGC.</B></I> Light golden-tan surfaces are imbued with hints of powder-blue and lavender, and exhibit well struck design elements, except for softness on the centrils of the stars along the right border. Die polish lines in the fields result in semi-prooflikeness that highlights the devices. A scattering of light marks defines the grade. A low-mintage issue of 15,000 business strikes, and very difficult to obtain in Mint State.
