<B>1847-O $2 1/2 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Variety Two. This variety is distinguished by the arrow feathers that enter the top of the mintmark. The 1847-O is one of the more available New Orleans quarter eagles, with an estimated 200-250 pieces believed known today in all grades. This is a high grade AU example that is surprisingly well struck for the issue. The yellow-gold surfaces show a significant accent of reddish patina over the highpoints of the design elements.
