This lightly worn orange-gold representative has slightly reflective peripheral luster and above-average detail for this issue, which is notorious for its poor strikes. Several abrasions above the eagle's head prevent a higher About Uncirculated grade. Purchased in the 1930's at face value by Karl Stecher Sr. from coins turned in by the public as per President Roosevelt's March 9, 1933 directive.
