<B>1847-C $5 --Scratched, Cleaned--ANACS. AU55 Details.</B></I> Although the 1847-C half eagle is the most available half eagle from Charlotte, it is by no means common. This unusually (but not offensively) bright example has an area of scratches below the eagle's wing in the left reverse field. The overall appeal is still considerable, and the problems noted on the ANACS insert certainly sound worse than they are.
