<B>1847-C $5 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> This is a superb, original coin with lovely deep green-gold and reddish-orange color on the obverse and reverse. It is fully struck, clean, and as obviously original as one could possibly imagine. There is a small, faint scratch in front of Liberty's mouth that is barely worthy of mention. Nearly full luster can be seen on the obverse and reverse with a lovely satiny texture that is indicative of total originality. By today's standards, this is clearly an Uncirculated coin and it has to rank as one of the more cosmetically appealing 1847-C half eagles that have survived. Housed in an old PCGS holder and conservatively graded by today's standards.<BR> While common in lower grades, the 1847-C becomes very scarce in the higher AU grades and rare in Uncirculated.
