1847-C $5 AU50 ANACS. While not quite as sharply struck as the extremely bold PCGS AU58 example also in the Carolina Circle collection, this piece is still sharp for the date. It exhibits light green-gold color with a few coppery toning spots near the date and on the reverse at the shield and wings. The surfaces are quite lustrous with some semi-prooflike flashes seen. Light, scattered marks are seen that are consistent with an AU grade. This is a pleasing, uncleaned, and problem-free example that appears nicer than the assigned grade. The 1847-C is not an easy date to find in the middle to higher AU grades, especially with original color and choice surfaces as seen on this piece.
From The Carolina Circle Collection.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
