<B>1847-C $2 1/2 MS64 NGC.</B></I> Variety 8-F, the only known variety of this date. This is an amazing example that is tied with a few others for the finest certified pieces of the date. The design motifs on each side are fully struck, including all of the fine die finishing lines that cover the fields. The surfaces are fully brilliant with attractive yellow-gold color and satiny luster. Although this date has the highest mintage of any Charlotte quarter eagle struck from 1838 to 1860, it is hardly plentiful in near-Gem condition.
