<B>1847 $5 MS63 NGC.</B></I> The 1847 half eagle is relatively common in circulated grades, but becomes a more challenging issue in Mint State, especially MS63 and above. The present coin displays attractive brass-gold surfaces and bright luster. The design elements are well impressed, and exhibit excellent definition in the star centrils and the eagle's feathers. A handful of light scuffs define the grade.
