<B>1847 $5 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> With a mintage of nearly 1 million coins, the 1847 half eagle is the most common date of the 1840s. Circulated pieces can be found with relative ease, but Mint State coins are somewhat more difficult to locate. This MS62 example exhibits lustrous peach-gold surfaces and generally well struck motifs, though the centers reveal minor softness. A few inoffensive handling marks are noted over each side.
