1847 $5 MS62 ICG. Produced in generous numbers for the era, the 1847 is the most common Half Eagle from the 1840s. It is also one of the four or five most easily obtainable No Motto Fives in Mint State. Of course, an Uncirculated '47-P Half Eagle is still a scarce coin in an absolute sense, and it has been more than a year since we last offered a similarly graded survivor. Well struck for the era, the devices display bold, if not sharp definition in all areas. Light orange-gold color drifts over both sides, and there is modest brightness in the fields of this otherwise frosty textured survivor. The number of wispy abrasions is not excessive for the grade, and the eye appeal is relatively strong. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
