<B>1846-O $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS.</B></I> A typical amount of highpoint wear is noted on both sides of this lime-green and rose example. The striking details are generally bold, if a bit weak on the eagle's leg and talons, and on some of the obverse stars. Purchased in the 1930's at face value by Karl Stecher Sr. from coins turned in by the public as per President Roosevelt's March 9, 1933 directive. Kraft envelope with inscriptions "1846-o 2.50 ex.f. was proof" accompanies lot.
