<B>1846 H10C AU53 NGC.</B></I> The 1846 half dime, with a mintage of 27,000 circulation strikes, is one of the key dates of the Seated Liberty half dime series. The extreme rarity of these coins in Mint State is attested to by the population data, that illustrate NGC and PCGS having seen a mere three Uncirculated coins. This AU53 specimen exhibits waves of green and gold-tan patina on the obverse, and pale violet on the reverse. Generally well struck on the design elements, and devoid of significant marks.
