<B>1845 Robinson Crusoe Children's Card Game.</B></I> A delightful nineteenth century children's game based on Daniel Defoe's classic book <I>Robinson Crusoe.</B></I> This game entitled "<I>Robinson Crusoe and His Man Friday</B></I>" is comprised of thirty 2.25" x 3.25" cards with etched hand-colored images of Robinson Crusoe, his man Friday, and a host of plant life, animals, and objects that might be found on Crusoe's island. The cards show only the slightest hint of age toning. The original instructions are still present and bear a date of 1845. The entire set is enclosed in the original decorative paper box with gilt titling and an illustration of Robinson Crusoe on the front. Certainly this is one of the earlier examples of a product spin off from a book.
