Magnificent 1845 Dated Ornate Ironstone Display Pitcher

1845-Dated, Ornately Decorated and Colorful Ironstone Pitcher, with Multiple Patriotic American and Fraternal vignettes, “Clark Severing & Co. Importers, Baltimore,” Very Choice Near Mint.

This gorgeous and highly colorful 7.25" high x 9.5” wide (front of spout to tail of handle) Ironstone pitcher is extensively decorated with nine different major symbols, plus two others devices that are smaller, plus a legend. Along the base it reads, “Entered - According to - Act of - Congress by - William S Ping Grd Secty - 1845.” Thus it would seem that this beautiful Pitcher was specially designed and produced in very limited quantity for that Masonic organization. This design recorded by Congress in 1845 per their Grand Secretary. “Clark Severing & Co. Importers, Baltimore,” on the bottom. Various color vignettes include: All Seeing Eye, American Heraldic Eagle and Legend, Beehive, Cornucopia, Masonic Legends and symbols, Holy Bible, “Justice,” Heart in Hand and a vignette on Charity. Outlined in rich deep burgundy and clay-tan colorations. Essentially “as made” with just a couple trivial signs of handling, and was likely only used for display.
