<B>1845-D $5 AU53 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 12-I. Winter (2003) notes that the 1845-D is one of the most available Dahlonega half eagle issues, though the collector may have difficulty finding a visually appealing example. This piece displays a solid strike, including on the often-weak stars, which display practically full radial lines. The yellow-gold surfaces retain considerable luster and have glints of orange and green.
