1845 $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS. Considered by some to be a "common" date from the 1840s, the 1845 is certainly not common in the better grades of Uncirculated. Only six other pieces have been so graded by PCGS, and NGC has seen 15 coins (4/07). At both services, a total of 11 pieces have been certified in finer condition. The 1845 is also interesting as the digits in the date are larger than normal as a dime punch was used. This is an especially attractive coin, especially for the grade. The fields show light striations and are consequently semi-reflective. The light yellow-gold color is accented by a slight lilac tint on the reverse. A bit softly struck in the centers, as expected.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
