<B>1844-C<$5>--Cleaned--ANACS. XF45 Details.</B></I> Variety 7-D. Glimpses of luster emerge when the piece is rotated, particularly on the reverse, which has a band of luster across the periphery. Well struck at the borders and on the eagle, while the portrait is softly brought up. Subdued by cleaning, perhaps to reduce the effect of the X pinscratched on the reverse field above the arrowheads.
