<B>1844-C $2 1/2 AU53 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 6-E. The strike is soft, and about average for the date. This piece has nice green-gold color with considerable residual mint luster and no major flaws. Small marks are evident on both sides as one might expect of an AU53. While not one of the rarest Charlotte quarter eagles overall, the 1844-C is the fourth-rarest in high grades.
