1844/81<1C> MS61 Brown PCGS. N-2, R.2. An average strike with moderate weakness on most of the stars and the coronet on Liberty. The color is an attractive medium brown, with no variation on the obverse or reverse. No spots or carbon detract, however there are raised green verdigris present on both sides but this is probably removable by experts at such things. Two or three small marks on Liberty's jaw and neck from a higher grade. Always popular for the bold recut date, and currently housed in an older green insert PCGS holder. Population: 1 in 61 Brown, 4 finer in Brown (11/05).
