<B>1843 S$1 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> While the 1843 is a common issue in circulated grades, in higher Mint State grades it becomes a major rarity. The present example offers a light cast of silver-gold and smoke-gray combined, with good luster that is only slightly subdued. The strike is sharp. A number of scattered surface marks account for the grade, none of them individually significant save for a scrape on Liberty's left (facing) shoulder. An appealing example of this elusive issue.
