1843-O. Large date, plain 4. PCGS graded MS-62. CAC. PQ. Struck in bright greenish gold with strong luster and great eye appeal. The surfaces are pretty clean with just a few minor nicks and a shallow scuff below Libertys chin in the field. Rarely are any of these early New Orleans quarter eagles found in mint condition. Here is one of the finer examples known and a coin that is worth a strong bid. The Large Date is easy to discern at the 4 is plain, while the Small Date variety has a crosslet 4 with an extra stroke on the crossbar. Nicely toned. Only 76,000 struck. Pop 6; 1 finer in 63. PCGS # 7732 Estimated Value 10,000 - UP
