<B>1843-O $2 1/2 Large Date, Plain 4 AU58 NGC.</B></I> The 1 in the date is awkwardly large, barely fitting between the bust and the dentils. Much more elusive than the Small Date variety. Like most examples seen, this piece shows die rust on Liberty's neck, and a fairly soft central strike on the obverse that shows softness on the hair. Virtually all of the mint luster remains, however, and the reverse is considerably bolder. An appealing piece that is just a shade away from Mint State.
